Red Bulls Draw To Chivas, But Take Over Eastern Conference Lead

The New York Red Bulls have sole possession of first place in Major League Soccer's Eastern Conference after playing to a scoreless draw Saturday to Chivas USA at The Home Depot Center in Carson, CA.

The Red Bulls, 6-4-11 with 29 points, has a one-point lead over the Columbus Crew (7-5-7, 28), who also played to a scoreless draw Saturday at home against the San Jose Earthquakes, and the Philadelphia Union (7-4-8, 28), who play Sunday at the New England Revolution. New York travels Wednesday to meet the defending MLS champion Colorado Rapids.

Chivas, at 5-7-8 with 23 points, is tied for sixth place in the Western Conference with the Earthquakes (5-6-8) and will host the Houston Dynamo next Saturday.
