Christen Press became the first rookie player in Women's Professional Soccer history to score a hat trick as she led magicJack.com to a 4-0 rout of the Boston Breakers Saturday at Florida Atlantic University Field in Boca Raton, FL.
She was assisted by player-coach Abby Wambach in the 36th minute, Marian Dalmy in the 76th and Nikki Washington in the 83rd minute as magicJack is now 6-6-2 with 19 points and tied for third place in the league standings with Sky Blue FC (5-6-4), who magicJack hosts Wednesday.
Boston, meanwhile, is in fifth place at 4-7-4 with 16 points, four points away from sole possession of fourth place in the league and a playoff berth. They will travel to the expansion Western New York Flash Wednesday.
