Alexa Newfield assisted Nkese Udoh on a 31st minute goal, then had an unassisted goal two minutes later as the Atlanta Silverbacks shut out the host Dayton Dutch Lions 2-0 in USL W-League play Saturday at Miami Valley South Stadium.
The Silverbacks, despite earning a one-point penalty during the season for a rules violation, remains on top of the Eastern Conference's Atlantic Division at 7-1-0 with 20 points and will host the expansion Fredercksburg Impact Friday at Silverbacks Park.
The Dutch Lions, also an expansion franchise, are in fourth place in the division at 3-3-2 with 11 points and host the Northern Virginia Majestics next Sunday.
