NASL Names Week 16 Award Winners

The North American Soccer League announced Monday Carolina RailHawks forward Pablo Campos and Atlanta Silverbacks defender Tyler Ruthven were named the Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week, respectively, for Week 16 of the 2011 season.

Campos scored two goals in the RailHawks' 4-1 victory at Wakemed Soccer Park against FC Edmonton and is the fifth player from the team to receive a weekly award.

Campos is second in the league's Golden Boot race with eight goals, seven behind fellow teammate Etienne Barbara with 15.

Ruthven led Atlanta to a 2-1 upset victory over FC Tampa Bay at Silverbacks Park, ending Tampa's four-game unbeaten streak.

He is the third straight Atlanta player to win a weekly award but the first from the defensive side.
