Playing on a field that caused a Major League Soccer regular season game to be postponed Saturday, John Guidett and Shaun Wright-Phillips led Manchester City of the English Premier League to a 2-1 victory over MLS' Vancouver Whitecaps in a 2011 Herbalife World Football Challenge match at Empire Field in Vancouver, British Columbia.
The Whitecaps, who were set to play Real Salt Lake before Saturday's postponement, got on the board in the 30th minute on a Camilo goal, but MLS would lose its third game of the inaugural tournament.
MLS franchises have three more chances to gain a victory -- two coming Saturday as the Chicago Fire face Manchester United of the EPL at Soldier Field in Chicago and Real Madrid of Spain's La Liga plays the Philadelphia Union at Lincoln Financial Field, and the Los Angeles Galaxy, who lost 2-1 last Saturday to Real Madrid, hosts Manchester City this Sunday at The Home Depot Center.
