John Sosa scored unassisted goals in the 17th and 62nd minute and Deshorn Brown got assistance on his from Bryan Perez in the 41st and Ben Taylor in he 65th as the host Des Moines Menace shut out expansion WSA Winnipeg 4-0 in the first game of a two-game USL Premier Development League seroes at Valley Stadium in West Des Moines, IA.
Game two of the series is Saturday.
The Menace are in second place in the Central Conference's Heartland Division at 8-3-0 with 24 points, five behind the division-leading Real Colorado Foxes (9-0-1, 28).
WSA Winnipeg is alone in seventh place in the standings at 2-8-1.
