Stephen McCarthy's 73rd minute goal off Chris Tierney led the New England Revolution to snap their nine-game Major League Soccer losing streak with a 1-0 victory over host DC United Wednesday at RFK Stadium in Washington, DC.
The Revolution are 4-8-7 with 19 points and are in seventh place in the Eastern Conference standings. They will next travel to the defending MLS champion Colorado Rapids Saturday.
DC United is 5-6-8 with 23 points and shares their record and fifth place in the Eastern standings with Sporting Kansas City. United next plays the San Jose Earthquakes next Saturday.
