Jewsbury PK Gives Timbers Enough To Snuff Out Fire

Jack Jewsbury's 25th minute penalty kick was all the Portland Timbers needed to shut out the host Chicago Fire 1-0 Saturday in Major League Soccer play at Toyota Park in Bridgeview, IL.

The Timbers, 6-9-3 with 21 points, are in eighth place in the Western Conference standings and will take on the Columbus Crew at Crew Stadium next Saturday.

Chicago, at 2-6-12 with 18 points, is tied for seventh in the Eastern Conference standings with Toronto FC (3-9-9) and is off until August 3 when they host the Philadelphia Union.
