Hotspur Ends First Home Season With Shutout Of Piranhas

Nick Conklin scored off a 46th minute pass from Nicholas Surkamp and Asher Quave-Robinson had a 68th minute penalty kick as the host Fredericksburg Hotspur closed out their first home season in the USL Premier Development League Sunday at the University of Mary Washington with a 2-0 victory over the Virginia Beach Piranhas.

The Hotspur are in last place in the Eastern Conference's South Atlantic Division at 2-10-3 with nine points and will play their 2011 season finale Sunday at Richard Montgomery High School against the Real Maryland Monarchs.

Virginia Beach, in fifth place in the division at 3-9-3 with 12 points, play their home and regular season finale Saturday against the Northern Virginia Royals at the Virginia Beach Sportsplex.
