Juan Dios Ibarra and Felix Garcia had first-half goals and Armando Begines and Esteban Bayona followed suit in the second half as the playoff-bound Laredo Heat defeated the host RGV Grandes FC 4-1 in RGV's final home game of the 2011 USL Premier Development League season Sunday at Edinburg Field.
Demba Rodriguez had the Grandes' lone goal.
Laredo is currently 10-3-1 with 31 points and is in second place in the Southern Conference's Mid-South Division, two points behind the Chivas El Paso Patriots (10-3-2, 32), who host the Heat in the 2011 season finale at Patriot Stadium this Sunday. Before then, the Heat travel to the West Texas United Sockers Thursday.
RGV ends their 2011 campaign, the team's first, in last place in the division at 3-11-2 with 11 points.
