Ryan Garcia had a hat trick and an assist, Abducarim Ndew added a goal and an assist and Sean Coleman scored as the host Real Maryland Monarchs beat the expansion Fredericksburg Hotspur 5-2 Sunday in USL Premier Development League play at Richard Montgomery High School.
The Monarchs are in fourth place in the Eastern Conference - South Atlantic Division at 6-5-2 with 20 points, two behind the West Virginia Chaos (6-4-3, 21) for sole possessiona of third place. Real Maryland hosts the Virginia Beach Piranhas Saturday.
Nicholas Surkamp had a goal and assisted on Zachary Abaie's goal to lead Hotspur, in last place in the division at 1-9-3 with six points. Fredericksburg will welcome the Carolina Dynamo and the Piranhas to the University of Mary Washington for games Friday and Sunday.
