Stephanie Goddard had unassisted goals in the 16th and 62nd minute sandwiched between an Alyssa Wombwell goal from Anja Barwinsky in the 58th minute as the Virginia Beach Piranhas sunk their teeth into the host Northern Virginia Majestics in a 3-1 victory Wednesday at Hellwig Memorial Field Stadium.
Hannah Sims had Northern Virginia's lone goal in the 90th minute.
Virginia Beach, in third place in the Eastern Conference's Atlantic Division with a 5-3-0 record and 15 points, plays their final two games of the season on the road -- next Friday at Charlotte Christian Stadium against the Charlotte Lady Eagles and next Sunday at Silverbacks Park against the division-leading Atlanta Silverbacks.
Northern Virginia, in last place at 0-7-1 with a point, takes on the Dayton Dutch Lions Sunday at Miami Valley South Stadium, then ends their season at home against the Fredericksburg Impact next Wednesday.
