Major League Soccer's DC United announced Saturday defender Jed Zaymer underwent a successful medial menisectomy in Columbus, OH to repair an injury he suffered in training camp June 28 and will be out of action for six weeks.
Zaymer, who came to United August 6, 2010 in a trade with the Columbus Crew for a second round 2012 MLS SuperDraft pick, had one assist in four games this season, as he has been in and out of the lineup due to the injury.
In 2010, he started all nine games he appeared in for DC.
He started 21 of 26 games for the Crew from 2007 to mid-2010 and was a member of their 2008 MLS Cup championship team.
