Crossfire Ends Timbers U-23's Defense Of USL PDL Title

Nathan Sackeyfio had a pair of goals and Vlad Voin and Murphy Campbell each had a goal and an assist as the expansion Washington Crossfire officially ended the Portland Timbers U-23's defense of the USL Premier Development League title with a 4-1 victory Sunday at Redmond High School in Redmond, WA.

Brent Richards scored off a Paul Ogunyemi assist as the Timbers, who went undefeated in the 2010 regular season and the playoffs, finished 2011 at 5-6-4 with 19 points in the Western Conference's Northwest Division.

The Crossfire are in seventh place in the division at 3-7-4 with 13 points and travel to the Tacoma Tide Friday before ending their season Sunday by hosting the Vancouver Whitecaps Residency.
