Robbie Rogers assisted on goals by Eddie Gaven in the fifth minute and Tommy Heinemann in the tenth as the Columbus Crew shut out Real Salt Lake in Major League Soccer play from Rio Tinto Stadium in Sandy, UT 2-0 Saturday and regained the lead in the Eastern Conference standings.
The Crew are now 9-6-7 with 34 points and will travel to Dick's Sporting Goods Park in Commerce City, CO to face the defending league champion Colorado Rapids.
Real Salt Lake, who has lost at home for the second time this season, is 9-4-6 with 33 points and in fifth place in the Western Conference, two points behind the Rapids (8-6-10, 34) for fourth place. RSL hosts the New York Red Bulls next Saturday.
