City Islanders Sign Reading United's Ackley, Rodriguez For Rest Of Season

The Harrisburg City Islanders of USL PRO announced Saturday they have signed forward/midfielder Brian Ackley and midfielder David Rodriguez from the USL Premier Development League's Reading United AC to contracts for the rest of the USL PRO season.

Both have spent time this season also playing for the reserve team of the Philadelphia Union in Major League Soccer's Reserve League, led by Union assistant coach Brendan Burke.

The Union have an affiiation agreement with the City Islanders.

Ackley assisted on one goal in five United games in 2011 and Rodriguez scored the game-winning goal May 15, 2011 in a 4-0 win over the New Jersey Rangers in Reading's home opener as one of 14 games he played this season and the lone goal in a 1-0 loss to the City Islanders June 14 during the 2011 Lamar Hunt US Open Cup tournament.
