Blue Heat End Whitecaps' Home Field Domination

Edite Fernandes was assisted by Shasta Fisher on a 36th minute game-tying goal and assisted Holly Hein on the game-winning 54th minute goal as the Santa Clarita Blue Heat rallied from a goal down to hand Vancouver Whitecaps FC their first USL W-League loss at home since 2008 in a 2-1 victory Friday at Kings Park in Penticton, British Columbia and created a tie for the lead in the Western Conference standings.

Vancouver led in the 13th minute off Tina Romaghuolo's pass to Sydney Leroux for a goal.

Santa Clarita (8-0-3) and Vancouver (8-3-3) each have 27 points in the standings.

The Blue Heat are back in action Sunday when they face the Seattle Sounders at Starfire Sports Complex in Tukwila, WA and the Whitecaps are off until Friday when they host the Colorado Force at McLeod Athletic Park.
