Banks Hammers Home For Hammerheads Over Blues

Chris Banks scored a 66th minute goal off Tom Parratt and assisted on goals by Ivan Becarra and Chris Murray in the 71st and 81st minute, respectively, as the host Wilmington Hammerheads defeated the Los Angeles Blues 4-2 Saturday in USL PRO play at Legion Stadium.

Andriy Budnyy had a goal for Wilmington in the first minute off Jack Avesyan.

Cesar Rivera (23rd minute) and Akeem Priestly (88th minute) had Los Angeles' goals.

The Hammerheads are 6-4-3 with 21 points for fifth place in the American Division, two points behind Antigua Barracuda FC (7-8-1, 22 points) for fourth place. Wilmington meets Antigua in a two-game series this Friday and next Sunday at Sticky Wicket Stadium.

The Blues, 5-4-4 with 19 points and in third place in the National Division, host the Dayton Dutch Lions July 15 at Cal State Fullerton.
