Ricketts Out 4-6 Weeks For Galaxy With Fractured Left Arm

Major League Soccer's defending Goalkeeper of the Year, Donovan Ricketts of the Los Angeles Galaxy, underwent surgery Tuesday on a fractured left arm he received Saturday in a scoreless draw against the San Jose Earthquakes and will be out for four to six weeks.

Ricketts was injured in the 21st minute when he collided with San Jose's Khari Stephenson after knocking away a pass from Ryan Johnson and was replaced by midfielder Mike Magee, who served as the team's backup goalkeeper.

Ricketts currently leads MLS in goals against average at 0.53 over 12 games and is 6-1-4 this season, with all six wins coming via shutouts.
