With four minutes left in regulation, Aaron King scored the game-winning goal off Frankie Sanfilippo as FC Tampa Bay edged the Atlanta Silverbacks 3-2 Sunday in North American Soccer League play from Al Lang Stadium in St. Petersburg, FL.
Mike Ambersley had goals in the 31st and 54th minute, the first coming off a Tsuyoshi Yoshitake assist, in Tampa Bay's victory, improving them to 3-4-4 with 13 points and in sixth place in the league standings. They will next face the league's best team, the Carolina RailHawks, at WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary, NC Saturday.
Ciaran O'Brien assisted on both of Atlanta's goals by Willie Hunt in the 34th minute and Jordan Davis in the 64th minute. The Silverbacks remain the worst team in the league at 1-6-2 with five points. Atlanta next travels to the Puerto Rico Islanders next Sunday.
