Wild Six-Minute Scoring Binge Creates Draw For Rapids, Red Bulls

Despite all the goals in the game scored over a six-minute span, the defending Major League Soccer champion Colorado Rapids played the New York Red Bulls to a 2-2 draw Wednesday at Red Bull Arena in Harrison, NJ for Colorado's fourth straight single point in the standings.

Jeff Larentowicz had an unassisted goal in the 27th minute for the Rapids, but New York tied the score two minutes later as Dwayne De Rosario and Joel Lindpere teamed on Thierry Henry's goal in the 29th minute.

Larentowicz broke the tie three minutes later with an assist by Pablo Mastroeni, but Roy Miller's pass to Luke Rodgers turned into a game-tying goal for the Red Bulls in the 33rd minute.

The Rapids are 4-3-5 with 17 points and are in a four-way tie for third place in the Western Conference with Real Salt Lake (5-1-2), the Portland Timbers (5-3-2) and the Seattle Sounders (4-4-5). Colorado hosts Sporting Kansas City, MLS' worst team this season, Saturday.

New York, at 4-2-5 with 17 points, is tied with the Philadelphia Union (5-3-2) for the lead in the Eastern Conference standings and will travel to the Vancouver Whitecaps Saturday.
