The Vancouver Whitecaps Residency and the host Victoria Highlanders played to a 2-2 draw Saturday at Bear Mountain Stadium in Victoria, British Columbia in USL Premier Development League play.
The Residency got an unassisted goal from Michael Nanchoff in the fifth minute and Ben Fisk assisted Caleb Clarke on a 40th minute goal.
Victoria's Jamar Dixon tied the game at 1-1 in the 16th off a Craig Gorman assist and Ash Burbeary passed off the ball to Marco Noegeli for the final goal in the 45th minute.
Both teams will meet again June 5 at Vancouver's Empire Field.
The Highlanders are second in the Western Conference's Northwest Division at 1-1-2 with five points and are off until the June 5 rematch.
Vancouver is tied for third place in the division with the defending league and division champion Portland Timbers U-23s at 1-1-1 with four points. The Residency will be at the Abbotsford Mariners next Sunday.
