Abby Wambach had an unassisted goal in the 25th minute and assisted on Lisa De Vanna's goal in the 75th minute as magicJack, formerly the Washington Freedom, got past the Philadelphia Independence 2-1 in Women's Professional Soccer play Sunday at Florida Atlantic University's Soccer Field in Boca Raton, FL.
Philadelphia had the opening goal in the eighth minute off an unassisted play by Tina DiMartino.
magicJack is now 2-0-0 with six points and tied for second in the league's single table with the Boston Breakers (2-2-0). The new Florida team will host the Atlanta Beat next Sunday.
Philadelphia, meanwhile, is 0-1-1 with a point and is tied with Sky Blue FC (0-2-1) for last place. The Independence will host the Breakers next Sunday at Widener University.
