The Ottawa Fury of the USL W-League announced the signings Monday of Teresa Rynier, Amanda Fancher, Colleen Deegan and Lydia Hastings to their 2011 season roster.
Rynier, who graduated from James Madison University, became the first player from the school to be drafted into Women's Professional Soccer by the Philadelphia Independence in their 2011 draft.
She now holds the school's all-time record in assists with 53 and is fourth all-time in points scored with 93 in 90 career games. Rynier leads the Dukes to a 57-27-6 record during her tenure and received numerous awards and accolades.
Fancher, a defender at the University of Virginia, had seven assists in 46 career games for the Cavaliers and led them to a 40-16-11 record. She also played for the US U-16 and U-17 Girls' National Teams.
Deegan and Hastings were teammates at the University of Maryland and led the Terrapins to the Sweet 16 of the 2009 NCAA Women's College Cup tournament.
Deegan, a defender, had six goals and four assists in 44 career games and was named to the 2010 Academic All-Region First Team.
Hastings, a midfielder, had nine goals and 13 assists in 61 career games and was a member of the US U-18 girls team and the 2008 All-Mid Atlantic Freshman Team in 2008.
The Fury open their 2011 W-League season on the road May 28 and 29 against the Rochester Ravens and expansion Hamilton FC Rage, respectively, before opening their home schedule June 3 against the Ravens.
