After a three-week training camp which ended Friday in Florida, US Women's National Team head coach Pia Sundhage announced Monday the 21 players who will represent the team at the 2011 FIFA Women's World Cup in Germany this summer.
The US has been played in Group C for the pool play round and will face North Korea (June 28 in Dresden), Colombia (July 2 in Sinsheim) and Sweden (July 6 in Wolfsburg).
Forward Christie Rampone of magicJack in Women's Professional Soccer will wear the captain's armband in her fourth WWC appearance.
The team is now training in Columbus, OH for a two-game series with Japan, beginning Saturday at Crew Stadium and ending next Wednesday at WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary, NC.
After that, they will prepare for their Send-Off Series match June 5 against Mexico at Red Bull Arena in Harrison, NJ, the first time the new Major League Soccer facility will host a women's game, then the team heads for Austria for their final preparations.
