A lottery will be held at the Tampa, FL headquarters of United Soccer Leagues Tuesday morning to decide whether the defending league champion Portland Timbers U-23s or the Kitsap Pumas will represent the USL Premier Development League in the 40-team field for the 2011 Lamar Hunt US Open Cup tournament.
Both teams, members of the Western Conference's Northwest Division, have identical records of 3-0-1 with 10 points after playing four qualifying games, have played each other to a scoreless draw May 21, and have the same goal differential and the same number of allowed goals over those games.
In their final qualifying games Sunday, the Pumas shut out the North Sound SeaWolves 1-0 and the Timbers U-23s were 2-0 winners over the Tacoma Tide.
