The Ottawa Fury of the USL Premier Development League announced the signings Tuesday of six players to their 2011 roster.
Midfielder Fabricio Barancoski comes to the team from NCAA Division II Wingate University, where the Sao Paulo, Brazil native had nine goals and two assists on their 2010 15-4-0 team. He has 12 goals and three assists in 38 career games for the Bulldogs.
Midfielder Blair Stevenson of Montana State University at Billings has a goal and two assists over all 32 games the Edinburgh, Scotland native has played.
Defender Adam Hintz was coached at Bryst Football Academy by current Fury head coach Steve Payne. Hintz was named a captain and Most Valuable Player during his six-season stint there before going to the University of Charleston in NCAA Division II, where he has played in 43 games and was named to the All-Conference First Team in his freshman season.
Liam Connon, a native of Aberdeen, Scotland, is a former member of Canada's U-20 team and had trials with Aberdeen FC, Millwall FC, Newcastle, Sunderlind and Hartlepool FC before getting one with Ross County FC in the Scottish Football League that eventually led to a two-year contract. He was part of their U-19 team, then became the youngest member of their team that won the SFL's 2009 Reserve Cup.
Forward Miro Cabrilo had four goals and one assist over 16 games in his freshman campaign of 2010 at Robert Morris University, where he was twice named Northeast Conference Rookie of the Week and the Colonials finished 9-5-2.
All five of those players will make their PDL debuts in 2011.
Defender Kyle Manscuk was a member of the PDL's Forest City London in 2010, who finished with a record of 10-1-5, and played in 14 games.
He has scored seven goals, four in 2010, in 69 career games at the University of Binghampton and has earned numerous awards, including being named a three-time Conference All-Academic Honor Roll selection.
The Fury open their 2011 PDL season on the road May 28 against Forest City London and May 29 against the expansion Hamilton FC Rage before playing their home season opener June 4 against the Western Mass Pioneers.
