Sporting Kansas City Wins Last LHUSOC Spot For MLS In Rout Of Revolution

Sporting Kansas City, the worst team in Major League Soccer this season, played like champions Wednesday and Chance Nyers and C.J. Sapong scored two goals each and Aurelian Collin added another as they shut out the New England Revolution 5-0 at Blue Valley District Activities Complex in Overland Park, KS to claim the last of eight available slots for MLS teams in the third round of the 2011 Lamar Hunt US Open Cup tournament, beginning next month.

Sporting Kansas City returns to league play Saturday when they travel to the defending MLS champion Colorado Rapids and the Revolution will host the best team in MLS and its Western Conference, the Los Angeles Galaxy, Saturday.
