Caroline Seger was assisted by Christine Sinclair on a 42nd minute goal, then had a penalty kick in the 84th minute to lead the Western New York Flash to a 3-0 shutout of magicJack FC Sunday at Sahlen's Stadium in Rochester, NY to maintain the top spot in Women's Professional Soccer.
Becky Edwards began the scoring for the Flash with a third minute unassisted goal.
The Flash, who joined the league from the USL W-League, where, as the Buffalo Flash, they won the 2010 league championship, are 5-0-1 with 16 points and will face the Philadelphia Independence on the road this Sunday.
magicJack FC, the former Washington Freedom but now playing in Fort Lauderdale, FL is 3-1-0 with eight points, including a one-point deduction by the league for rules violations, and are tied for second place with the Independence (2-1-2). magicJack will host the Atlanta Beat Saturday.
