Brooke DeRosa and Jennifer Leaverton each had a goal and an assist and Laura Greene added a goal as the host Long Island Rough Riders opened their 2011 USL W-League season with a 3-0 shutout of the New Jersey Rangers at MacArthur High School Saturday.
The Rough Riders are now tied for the lead in the Eastern Conference's Northeast Divsion with the New York Magic (same) and open their road schedule next Saturday against them.
The Rangers, 0-2-0 and in last place, host the New Jersey Wildcats June 2.
