Seattle Sounders defender Jeff Parke, who headed in the game-winning and lone goal in second-half stoppage time of a 1-0 home win over Sporting Kansas City at Qwest Field Saturday for his first Major League Soccer goal since June 12, 2004, was named Monday the MLS Player of the Week for Week 10 of the 2011 season.
He also became the first defender to win the award since Chad Marshall did it during Week 22 of the 2009 season.
