Jeff Parke scored his first Major League Soccer since the 2004 season over a Tyson Wahl assist in second-half stoppage time as the host Seattle Sounders shut out Sporting Kansas City 1-0 Saturday at Qwest Field.
Seattle is now 4-3-5 with 17 points and is tied with FC Dallas (5-3-2, 17), who they host Wednesday, for second place in the Western Conference standings.
Kansas City, on a league-record 10-game road trip while final touches are made to their new home, LIVESTRONG Sporting Park in Kansas City, KS, is 1-6-1 with four points, the conference's and the league's worst record this season. They will travel to the defending MLS champion Colorado Rapids next Saturday.
