Ownby Brace Keeps Reading United On Top Of Division After Bermuda Trip

Brian Ownby scored two unassisted goals, including the tie-breaking goal to win the game and Will Bates added one of his own as Reading United AC edged the Bermuda Hogges 3-2 Friday in USL Premier Development League play at the Bermuda Athletic Association.

Keishen Bean and Angelo Simmons scored unassisted goals for the Hogges, who played their 2011 home and regular season opener.

Reading is now 5-0-0 with 15 points and not only leads the Eastern Conference's Mid-Atlantic Division, but is also tied with the Chivas El Paso Patriots, leader of the Southern Conference's Mid-South Division, for the league's best record. Reading travels next Sunday to play the New Jersey Rangers.

Bermuda is tied for last place in the Mid-Atlantic with the Central Jersey Spartans (0-2-0), Ocean City Nor'Easters (0-3-0) and the Brooklyn Knights (same as Ocean City). The Hogges face the Rangers in Bermuda this Sunday.
