Orlando City Signs Campbell To Multi-Year Contract

The Orlando City Soccer Club of USL PRO signed midfielder Charlie Campbell to a multi-year contract Wednesday.

Drafted by FC Dalllas in the second round of the 2011 Major League Soccer SuperDraft, he failed to make the team's roster during the preseason.

He played his first three collegiate seasons at Virginia Tech, where he was named to the Atlantic Coast Conference's All-Freshman Team and was a three-time all-American. After missing his entire junior year to a knee injury and being granted a medical redshirt by the NCAA, Campbell transferred to Louisville for his final season and saw the Cardinals advance to the championship game of the 2010 NCAA Men's College Cup tournament, where they eventually lost to national champion Akron, in their first bid to the tournament.
