An historic name in the annals of professional soccer in the US, the New York Cosmos, will return as United Soccer Leagues announced Wednesday New York Cosmos U23 will officially join the Premier Development League in the 2012 season.
Until its official membership next season, the Cosmos will play a limited exhibition schedule against current PDL teams.
