Rodrigo Morin assisted on Jorge Orona's goal in the sixth minute and scored off a Marcio Garcia assist in the 50th minute as the host Chivas El Paso Patriots got past the New Orleans Jesters 3-1 in USL Premier Development League play Thursday at Patriot Stadium.
Enrique Cervantes added a goal in the 56th minute for the Patriots, four minutes after New Orleans prevented a shutout win for El Paso with an unassisted goal.
Chivas leads the league's Southern Conference, Mid-South Division with a 4-1-0 record and 12 points and will host the Baton Rouge Capitals Saturday.
New Orleans lost their season-opening game and is tied for last place in the division with the Capitals (also 0-1-0) and the RGV Grandes (0-3-0). The Jesters will travel to the West Texas United Sockers Saturday.
