More Soggy Conditions Push Second Leg Of NCC To July 2

The Canadian Soccer Association, as well as Major League Soccer's Toronto FC and Vancouver Whitecaps, jointly announced Thursday that, due to continued poor pitch conditions due to heavy rain the night before, the second leg of the championship series for the 2011 Nutrilite Canadian Championship title and a spot in the 2011-12 CONCACAF Champions League, will now be played July 2 at Toronto's BMO Field.

Both teams were tied at 1-1 after playing in the first leg of the two-game, total-goal series May 18 at Empire Field but, after undergoing numerous delays because of weather in Game 2 Wednesday at BMO Field and despite Toronto taking a 1-0 game lead and a 2-1 aggregate lead in the game, referees ended the game after 62 minutes and ordered the game be replayed in its entirety Thursday at 11 a.m. local time.

However, a soggy field that didn't receive sufficient time to properly drain left all sides deciding to, again, cancel the game Thursday and they made the announcement to move the game to the new date.
