Luis Piffer scored two goals and John Sosa assisted on both of them, as well as on goals from Diego Marroquin and Lebogang Moloto, as they host Des Moines Menace defeated the St. Louis Lions 5-2 in USL Premier Development League play Saturday at Valley Stadium in West Des Moines, IA.
Uriah Polley also scored for Des Moines, who is tied for the lead in the Central Conference's Heartland Division at 3-0-0 and nine points with the Real Colorado Foxes.
The Menace next travel to the Kansas City Brass June 1.
Dan Meagher was assisted by Troy McKerrell on a goal and Patrick Kelly scored one unassisted as the Lions fell to 0-2-0, tying them for last place in the division with the Brass and the Springfield Demize. The Lions host the Foxes Sunday.
