Adam Mena had a hat trick, Steven Short had a goal and an assist and Nash Maduekwe opened the scoring for the host Indiana Invaders in a 5-1 rout of the expansion River City Rovers in USL Premier Development League play at the Invaders Soccer Complex Monday.
River City's lone goal came in the 59th minute as Kylie Richard found Jarrett Robbins and fed a pass for the point.
Indiana is 1-2-1 with four points and is in fifth place in the Central Conference's Heartland Division. The Invaders next host the Toronto Lynx Sunday.
River City, based in Louisville, KY, is 0-2-2 with two points and holds down last place in the division. They will hit the road for games Friday against the Michigan Bucks and Sunday against Forest City London.
