Marta assisted on a fifth minute goal by Alex Morgan, who, in the 77th minute, would return the favor by helping Marta score as Women's Professional Soccer's best team, the expansion Western New York Flash, defeated Sky Blue FC 3-1 Friday at Sahlen's Stadium in Rochester, NY.
Caroline Seger had an unassisted goal for the Flash in the 40th minute, as they improved to 3-0-1 with 10 points. Western New York hosts the Boston Breakers next Friday at Sahlen's Stadium.
Sky Blue's only goal came as Therese Sjogram fed a pass to Adriana in the 66th minute. Sky, at 0-3-1 with a point, are tied for last place in the league standings with the Philadelphia Independence (0-1-1, 1), who played in the league's championship game last season against the defunct FC Gold Pride.
