Konstanski, Sheta Unassisted Goals Give Royals Win Over Hotspur

The host Northern Virginia Royals broke a tie with an 80th minute unassisted goal from Caleb Konstanski and won the game four minutes later on a similar move by A.J. Sheta as they defeated expansion Fredericksburg Hotspur 3-1 in USL Premier Development League action Sunday at Fairfax High School.

The Royals scored in the second minute when Cristian Neagu fired the ball into the back of the net, but Zachary Bowman's play in the 40th minute for Hotspur eventually sent the game to a tie at halftime.

Northern Virginia is 2-3-0 with six points and is in fourth place in the Eastern Conference's South Atlantic Division. The Royals travel to Macpherson Stadium Saturday to play the Carolina Dynamo.

Fredericksburg is 1-4-0 with three points and tied for last place in the division with the Virginia Beach Piranhas (1-3-0). Hotspur hosts the Real Maryland Monarchs on Memorial Day.
