Gerson dos Santos had an unassisted goal in the 65th minute and Shaka Bangura assisted Matthew Delicate on an 80th minute goal as the Richmond Kickers extended their season-opening winning streak in USL PRO to six games with a 2-1 win over the Wilmington Hammerheads at City Stadium in Richmond, VA Saturday.
Wilmington needed three minutes to open the scoring as Chris Spendlove assisted Ivan Becarra for the 1-0 lead.
Richmond remains the best team in the league and the American Division with a 6-0-0 record and 18 points. The Kickers will travel to Harrisburg, PA Saturday to face the Harrisburg City Islanders.
Wilmington, at 2-1-0 with six points, is fourth in the division and will host FC New York next Saturday at Legion Stadium.
