Shalrie Joseph's 49th minute penalty kick was the lone goal of the game as the New England Revolution shut out the Vancouver Whitecaps 1-0 in Major League Soccer action Saturday at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, MA.
The Revolution are 3-3-4 with 13 points, tied for third place in the Eastern Conference with the Houston Dynamo (same record) and the Columbus Crew (3-1-4). New England heads to Buck Shaw Stadium in Santa Clara, CA this Saturday to face the San Jose Earthquakes.
Expansion Vancouver is 1-5-5 with eight points and are in eighth place in the Western Conference. They will next host the New York Red Bulls May 28.
