Johnathan Hernandez assisted on Amos Garyea's 64th minute goal and Ivan Garcia's 70th minute strike as host WSA Winnipeg split a two-game, season-opening series with the Thunder Bay Chill with a 3-0 shutout Sunday in USL Premier Development League play at the Winnipeg Indoor Soccer Complex Field.
Kenny Sacramento opened the scoring for Winnipeg in the 47th minute, thanks to an assist by Adam Bromley.
Both teams, now 1-1-0 with three points, are tied for fourth place in the Central Conference's Heartland Division with the St. Louis Lions and both will host the Des Moines Menace in their next games -- Winnipeg playing them on June 7 and 8; Thunder Bay doing so on June 11.
