Gordon Goal Puts Toronto FC Into NCC Final Series; Await Montreal-Vancouver Winner May 18

Alan Gordon's goal in the 20th minute was all Major League Soccer's Toronto FC needed to get a 1-0 second leg win at BMO Field Wednesday and a 4-0 aggregate win over the North American Soccer League's FC Edmonton in the semifinal of the 2011 Nutrilite Canadian Championship.

Toronto now moves on to the two-game championship series with either fellow MLS foe Vancouver Whitecaps or the NASL's Montreal Impact, who were playing the second leg of their semifinal series Wednesday, facing them for the right to represent Canada in the 2011-12 CONCACAF Champions League tournament.

Vancouver leads the other series 1-0 after last Wednesday's opening game.

The winner of that series will open the two-game, total-goals finale May 18, either at Empire Field if Vancouver wins or Saputo Stadium in Montreal wins, with Toronto FC hosting the second leg May 25.
