As part of the World Football Challenge, Major League Soccer's Los Angeles Galaxy announced Friday they will compete against Spanish La Liga franchise Real Madrid July 16 at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum.
The teams have played twice before, splitting victories.
On July 18, 2005, Real Madrid beat the Galaxy 2-0 at The Home Depot Center in Carson, CA, then met again August 7, 2010 at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, where Los Angeles won 3-2.
