Fire Gives League Its 17th Colombian Player In Nazarit

Major League Soccer's Chicago Fire announced the signing Wednesday of the league's 17th player to hail from Colombia, forward Cristian Nazarit.

Nazarit, who scored 16 goals in 42 games with his country's Independente since 2008, saw his contract not renewed when it expired in January 2011 and was able to transfer freely to MLS.

Chicago also announced they were placing midfielder Marko Maric on the disabled list with a sprained left deltoid.
