Reigning Major League Soccer Most Valuable Player David Ferreira underwent surgery Tuesday to repair a broken right ankle suffered in the team's 2-1 road win over the Vancouver Whitecaps at Empire Field April 23.
The forward led the team with three goals and an assist before the injury.
No timetable was released for his return.
