Evans' Overall Effort Leads Sounders To Shutout Over Toronto FC

Brad Evans had an all-around game Saturday as he led the host Seattle Sounders to a 3-0 shutout of Toronto FC in Major League Soccer action from Qwest Field in Seattle.

Evans assisted with James Riley on Alvaro Fernandez's goal in the ninth minute, then got help from Jhon Kennedy Hurtado and Fredy Montero on a 52nd minute goal, and scored on a penalty kick in the 75th minute.

The Sounders are 3-2-3 with 12 points and are tied for second place in the Western Conference with Real Salt Lake (4-1-0), four points behind the Los Angeles Galaxy (4-1-3, 15) from taking the conference lead. Seattle takes on DC United at RFK Stadium Wednesday, then travels to Crew Stadium next Saturday to play the Columbus Crew.

Toronto FC is 1-3-4 with seven points and are ted for sixth in the Eastern Conference table with United (2-4-1, seven) and will host the Houston Dynamo this Saturday at BMO Field.
