The Springfield Demize of the USL Premier Development League and the Professional Arena Soccer League announced Tuesday Julio Reyes will serve as their head coach.
Reyes played for the New Jersey Stallions from 1996 to 2004 as the team was part of the United Systems of Independent Soccer League (USISL), and the USL's D-3 Pro, Pro Select and PDL before disbanding.
After playing from age 11 to 15 with Alianza Lima in Peru, he began his professional career at 17 with Club Deportivo A.E.L.U. in Peru, then went to Panama and joined Euro Kickers FC in 1990, where they qualified to play in the CONCACAF Champions League and he played against the San Francisco Bay Blackhawks, Guatemala's Comunicaciones and Costa Rica's Saprissa FC.
In 1994, he moved to Puerto Rico and played for Guayana FC before joining the State Island Vipers in the USL A-League.
